Integrated optics was primarily developed at the end of the nineteen nineties mainly thanks to the telecommunications market. Currently, most of integrated optical functions are manufactured for applications related to optical telecommunications.

The first components designed, manufactured and marketed by Kloé are also related to optical telecommunications. The main advantage of optical integration is to reduce production costs, we focused on components which could be manufactured in large volume. We thus developed components focused on local and access networks.
