Kloé is composed by a highly qualified and experienced management team. The team is comprised of internationally recognized experts in key areas of Kloe's technology, namely the science of Glass Materials and Photonics.

Marcel Hermann

Marcel Hermann

Chairman of the Board

An accountant since 1980, Marcel Hermann first created and developed an accounting firm in several cities and headquartered it in Montpellier.

In 1996 he sold his shares in the International Audit Group "Deloitte & Touch" to devote himself to entrepreneurship. He then bought the Hemodialysis Center of Languedoc in Montpellier, which he restructured and expanded. This center became the second largest in France, after Lyon, in treatment capacity and volume of activity. In 1999 the center was bought by the N°1 world leader in this sector. He remains a director and shareholder of some major companies. He is also the owner of a renowned vineyard from the Coteaux du Languedoc.
Today Marcel Hermann owns more than 10 clinics in southern France. He joined Kloé in 2003, convinced of its potential and the quality of its engineers and products, bringing to it his expertise in legal, financial and corporate strategy.

 

Paul Coudray PhD (co-promoter)

Chief Executive Officer

Paul Coudray holds a PhD in Optoelectronics and Photonics and over 20 years of experience in optics and photonics. He helped create two photonic start-up companies in Canada as well as a photonics university research team prior to founding his own company in France. He is the author of more than 60 scientific papers in refereed journals and international conferences, and over a dozen patents.

He is the winner of the Innovative Business Start-up Award from the Ministry of Industry in 2000 and 2001. By 2004, Kloé was one of the most innovative companies in France, using its own capital for growth without needing outside investors.

 

Nicolas Brillouet P. Eng.

Nicolas Brillouet

Technical Director

An Optoelectronics and Photonics engineer by training, Nicolas Brillouet began his career in Canada as a Product and Optical Test engineer. With over 10 years of experience in photonics, he is the technical lead for major industrial projects in which Kloé participates. He is also the technical lead for research and development initiated at Kloé in order to remain at the forefront of technological innovation.

 

Marie-Ange Coudray

Marie-Ange Coudray

Marketing and Communication Director

Marie-Ange Coudray is a graduate in Commercial Studies for business travel and airline companies. She has 10 years of experience as a sales manager for American Express, Jet Tours and Air Liberté. She joined Kloé in 2003 to direct the communication and marketing aspects of the company. She put into place Kloé’s entire marketing strategy for Dilase equipment as well as furthered Kloé’s visibility in the media and at trade shows.

 

David Bouvier

David Bouvier

Product Manager – Equipment/Tools

With a PhD in Optronics and an Engineering degree in Microelectronics and Automation, David Bouvier joined Kloé in 2006 to establish an Electronics Department within the company. He designed the electronic control systems of all the Dilase, UV-KUB and K-ILU systems. Now responsible for the equipment line, he contributes to the development of new micro-technology equipment to expand the applicable scope of Dilase technology.

 

Pierre Blanchet

Product Manager – R&D Department

An Optics and Photonics engineer, Pierre Blanchet joined Kloé in 2003 to develop the first laser lithography machines in pre-commercial phase. Initially responsible for the optomechanical design of industrial laser lithography equipment, he ensures the implementation of direct-write photolithography processes for the production of optical components. Since 2010, he manages all of the research and development services that Kloé offers its customers.

 

Benjamin Rolland

Benjamin RollandProduct Manager - Optical Circuits

Benjamin Rolland is an Optics and Photonics engineer, who joined the Kloé Test and Assembly of Optical Components Team in 2004. He designed and implemented all of the optical assembly and packaging systems of the R&D unit and production line. He devised the first such LED UV insolation systems which lead to the first photo mask, UV-KUB 1 and 2. Today he manages the production of all Kloé integrated optical circuits.

 

Pascal Etienne PhD ( co promoter)

Board Member

Pascal Etienne holds a PhD and Engineering degree in Materials Science and has over 20 years of experience in industry R&D (he worked as an R&D engineer at Essilor International) and academic research. A renowned expert in sol-gel hybrid process (chemical solution deposition), he is now a professor at the University of Montpellier where he heads the Glass Materials Research Team. The owner of some of the patents that Kloé is using, he helps to develop new materials for the company in his role as consultant and scientific advisor.

 

Robert Sempere PhD

Robert Sempere

Council Member

Robert Sempéré is a CNRS (French National Scientific Research Center) researcher specializing in the development and characterization of new glass materials. With over 40 years of experience in the field of Glass Materials, Kloé benefits from his extensive knowledge in this domain.
