A REAL-TIME OPTICAL METHOD
The K-STR strain sensors are optical sensors based on the principle of Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG).
Their specific design makes them sensitive to mechanical stresses to which they are subject ( traction, torsion, pressure...), Their in-line configuration enables the integration of several sensors on a same sensing cable, which simplifies their deployment to controll, in real time, structural deformations, quantify elongations, traction efforts...
A multiparameters monitoring
Our strain sensors works on the same principle (Bragg Gratings) as our temperature and gas detection sensors, there are all interrogable with a same interrogation system. Therefore an industrial facility equipped with temperature, strain and gas sensors requires only one monitoring system "K-STR Monitoring unit" to control the entire installation.
Adapted installation solutions
According to the application and to the measurand wanted ( elongation, torsion, deformation, pressure...) the installation method has to be adapted and to be made as less intrusive as possible. For that, Kloé has developped its own deployment methods which rely on fiber portage, pre-cabling or direct deployment on site.
Our strengh: performances
The standard sensitivity of our K-STR strain sensors are systematically calibrated and in the order of 1.5pm/µm, offering a behaviour perfectly reversible, with no hysteresis.Their configuration allows the installation of several tens of sensors on one single sensing optical cable, positionned on demand over distances up to 50km. The response is almost instantaneous, with no need for postprocessing.
Our associated monitoring solutions
Kloé has designed and marketed a complete range of optoelectronic interrogation systems compatible with K-STR type sensors, the K-STR Monitoring Units. We offer several monitoring solutions according to areas of application, on-site configuration and with the expected density of measurement points. Therefore, systems compatilble with 20, 40 or 60 sensors per single cable are able to interrogate from 1 to 8 optical sensing cables. Each of these systems can be packaged into a nomad version to facilitate the on-site portability, or into static version, in the form of an equipped storage bay, ventilated or air-conditionned.
