AN ALL-OPTICAL­SENSORS RANGE

Kloé has developed a range of "all-optical" integrated components dedicated to the measurements of temperatures, mechanical stresses and gas detection. These optical circuits are the results of Kloé know-how in optical design, of the flexibility of its technology and its marterials expertise.

OPTICAL DETECTION: HIGH SENSITIVITY IN REAL-TIME

The instrumented control of industrial facilities, traffic lanes or even geophysical phenomena has become a major concern for risk prevention and requires for high-speed control mechanisms, sensitive and reliable.

The K-FBG technology designed and patented by Kloé is based on the inscription of Bragg gratings into the core of a fiber optic: this technology has been broadly approved and experienced by the Telecom industries for more than 35 years (Telcordia standard). On this background, Kloé has developed its innnovative approach that enables to integrate up to 100 K-FBG on a single fiber optic. Each K-FBG thus acts like an "optical thermocouple" of high sensitivity that allows an acquisition in real time of temperature measurements without the need for post-processing.

COMBINATION OF FIBER AND INTEGRATED OPTICS

The gas detection technology, integrated on an optical chip, has been designed and patented by Kloé under the name of K-BGS Technology. Therefore, Kloé offers an unique solution of direct gas detection and concentration measurements via fiber optics, even in confined environments. These sensors, based on a generic optical technology, meet the ATEX requirements and are multipoint detection solutions, available in multigas platform version, and monitored in real time with an interrogation system compatible with K-FBG temperature sensors.

NUMEROUS APPLICATION AREAS

The all-optical detection solutions offered by Kloé are adressed to many areas such as:

Pétrole

Energy sectors (Oil and Gas) where K-FBG and K-BGS technologies are used to follow-up temperatures and gas leaks along channels such as pipelines (for applications from cryogenic to much higher temperatures) or to manage the surveillance of Offshore facilities.

Geos

The sensitivity and reactivity offered by K-FBG technology makes it today the prefered
optical fiber solution for leak detection along channelings (water, gas, oil...). The sensors are as well suitable for the surveillance of traffic or fluvial lanes, as for example for the surveillance of dikes to prevent from any flood risk..

Digue

These sensors respond as well to geothermy applications requirements, throught sub-soils or downhole analysis or even in the context of C02 storage monitoring. From their compactness, the sensing cables made by Kloé meet low intrusiveness requirements in numerous applications and are the unique solution in most of the environments where the deployment is judged extremely delicate.

DES COMPETENCES RECONNUES

A ce jour, nos solutions de détection ont été qualifiées pour la surveillance de sites, d'installations industrielles et la détection de fuites le long de conduites par des grands comptes de l'industrie pétrolière. Plusieurs puits d'analyses de sous-sol sont aujourd'hui équipés de nos systèmes en France et en Europe pour la communauté scientifique des Géosciences. Un site de stockage de CO2 situé en Israel est également équipé d'un de nos systèmes de monitoring. Enfin, les solutions Kloé ont été adaptées à la surveillance de digues pour assurer la prévention des risques de ruptures et d'inondations associées.
